Resolving Connection Errors (Password is wrong or SMTP /IMAP issues)

If you encounter connection errors when linking to your account, follow these steps:

1. Password is Wrong

Invalid credentials: Using incorrect passwords, especially when two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled. Most services require app-specific passwords instead of regular passwords when 2FA is active.

2. Incorrect Server Configuration

Wrong server addresses: Using incorrect SMTP/IMAP server addresses (e.g., smtp.gmail.com for Gmail vs. smtp.office365.com for Outlook). Mixing up SMTP (sending) and IMAP (receiving) servers is a common mistake.

Mismatched ports and encryption : Using incorrect SMTP/IMAP ports

To find your SMTP/IMAP credentials, you need to check directly with your email provider. Most of the time, you can type the following code on Google and you should land on their documentation.

*provider name* SMTP credentials
*provider name* IMAP credentials
